A woman has been seriously injured in a hit and run collision.

Officers were called to Jedburgh Avenue in Heaton at around 11.45pm last night, where the 44-year-old woman had been hit by a car.

She was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the driver of the car did not remain at the scene, and that an investigation to find them has been launched.

No arrests have yet been made in relation to this case.

A police spokesperson said: “On Saturday 5 March 2023 at around 11.45pm, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Jedburgh Avenue in Heaton, Bolton.

“Emergency services attended the scene and a 44-year-old female was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

“The driver did not remain at the scene and investigation has subsequently been launched to locate the suspect.

“No arrests have been made in connection at present and it is believed to be an isolated incident and poses no wider threat to the public.”

They added: “Officers would urge anyone with any information in regards to this incident, to report it to GMP immediately. This could include dash cam or doorbell footage of the incident or any suspicious activity before or after 11:45pm in the local area.
