Greater Manchester Police have stopped a driver in Bolton who stacked unfastened hay bales to a farm vehicle and trailer.  

A Police Motorway Patrol unit stopped a farm vehicle and trailer in Stoneclough, Bolton, today that was carrying unsecured hay bales.  

Officers said the bales were stacked three high and weighed 2500kg each.  

The Roads Policing Unit added that the bales had not been secured in any way.  

The vehicle was then prohibited and a Traffic Offence Report was issued to the driver. 

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “RPU Motorway Patrol has just stopped this Farm Tracker and Trailer in the Stoneclough area of Bolton.  

“The hay bales weighing 2500kg each were stacked 3 high and without being secured in any way. 

“Imagine one of these rolling at you! 

“Vehicle prohibited and TOR issued to the driver.”
