A Bolton theatre group is putting on a classic opera show where love will be in the air.

Operatic and musical society New Rosemere will be performing Gilbert and Sullivan classic The Sorcerer this month at Walmsley Parish Theatre in Egerton.

The piece will be performed on March 28, 29, 30 and 31 at 7.30pm, as well as a Saturday matinee on Saturday, April 1 at 2pm.

On the day of their engagement, Alexis wants everyone to be as happy as he and his beloved Aline, so hires sorcerer John Wellington Wells to cast a love potion on their guests.

Chaos ensues as the potion doesn’t work quite as the sorcerer intended, with the guests falling madly in love with the first person they set their eyes upon.

Standard tickets are £14 and concession tickets for students, over 60s and groups of 10 and over, are £13.

Tickets are available online at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/newrosemere, can be purchased on the door, or are available by calling Sue on 01204 307 652.
