A body was found inside a home in Bolton after contractors forced their way into a home.

Staff from Bolton at Home visited the property on Hemsworth Road, Bolton, last Thursday to do a check on the alarm system.

But they were unable to gain entry and they forced their way in and discovered a body.

A nearby couple, who asked not to be named, told The Bolton News they moved in two years ago and were told the man at the property in question comes and goes and they may not see him.

They expressed their shock at what had taken place.

It is not know how long the body had been there.

The woman said: “It was just bones.

“We can’t understand has no one done a welfare check.

“Gas safety checks in the tenancy have to be done every year.

“We can’t sleep.

“No one has come back to check on us, they all left on Thursday.”

Noel Sharpe, Group CEO of Bolton at Home said: “On Thursday 9 March, one of our staff members discovered a body at one of our properties in Hemsworth Road, Halliwell, after gaining entry to the property.”

“We are working with police and the coroner’s office to assist with investigations into the circumstances surrounding this incident and are unable to comment further while these investigations take their course.

“We’re saddened by what’s happened and know this may be very upsetting for people living nearby. We will offer as much support as we can and encourage anybody with any concerns to contact us on 01204 328000.”
