A young investment banker from Bolton has celebrated bringing in £30m in venture value in the course of just a year.

Former Mount St Joseph secondary school pupil Daanish Hussain, 23, has since gone on to work for Goldman Sachs, Epic Equity and established himself as one of the UK's most promising young bankers.

He is now planning to focus on attracting investment and prosperity to some of Bolton’s most deprived areas.

Mr Hussain said: “What investors look for is a strong economy within a location with high growth potential, combined with excellent transport connections and a real focus on delivery through a responsive planning system which is open to growth.

“In the upcoming months, I will be meeting with some key stakeholders to discuss some strategic projection plans for potential investment opportunities across Bolton.

“I see a lot of high yielding potential investment opportunities which will not only benefit shareholders but will also result in significant redevelopment in some of the most distressed areas within Bolton.”

Mr Hussain, from Farnworth, built his career in finance after graduating from the University of Edinburgh.

He has now been recognised by his peers for his ability to turn round underperforming companies using merger and acquisition strategies.

Banking industry colleague Ariel Icahn said: “Daanish has a great track record of delivering results for underperforming companies through a wide array of different strategies such as LBO, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic remodelling.

“These have all proven invaluable both to Daanish’s success as well as all of the business involved in these transactions who have benefited positively from Daanish’s advisory.
