People in Bolton are being invited to give their views on how hospitals are working to clear waiting list backlogs.

The survey is currently being carried out by the NHS across Greater Manchester, where hospitals have all been working hard to address waiting lists in the face of mounting pressure.

The council has appealed for as many patients, would-be patients and their families to come forward as possible with their experiences of planned hospital care.

A statement said: “The NHS in Greater Manchester has launched a survey to gather your feedback of waiting for planned hospital care and how they are addressing waiting list backlogs.

“Hospitals provide many services for people from non-urgent care, planned hospital care, referred to as elective care services, through to life-threatening conditions.”

Planned hospital care can included when people are referred to a specialist by a GP, optician or dentist, when they attended an outpatient appointment to see the specialist or when they attend hospital for diagnostic tests.

They can also include when people attend hospital for treatment or for any follow up appointments after treatment.

The survey can be accessed through the active consultations section of the council’s website and will be open until Tuesday, April 14 this year.
