A blind man who appeared on The Wheel last night scooped up a massive cash prize after receiving help from popular Bolton DJ.

Toby, from Chichester, who revealed he was blind, walked away with £45,000 despite the question being about art which he had no knowledge of.

Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox, who is originally from Little Lever, was one of the seven chosen celebrities who helped him answer the final question and who helped him win the money.

Throughout the show, Toby made jokes about his disability, including when a rugby question came up and he said he’d never watched a game of rugby in his life.

The final question host Michael McIntyre read out for Toby to win the prize was: “Which of these artists has won the Turner Prize in the 21st Century?”

The four possible answers were Grayson Perry, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst or Amish Kapoor.

Toby admitted he knew nothing about art jokingly saying: “Blind people don’t like art!”

Sara said: “I’m drawn towards Amish Kapoor and Grayson Perry and possibly Grayson Perry but I’ve no idea at all.”

Toby went with Sara’s answer of Grayson Perry and the crowd erupted when the studio turned gold and Toby was lost for words during the moment.

The heart-warming moment ended with Toby giving Sara a hug and vowing to listen to her Radio 2 show every day.

Michael McIntyre pointed out: “I can’t believe you have come on The Wheel, you are a blind man, you have been given a question on art to end the show.

“You have hilariously pointed out that you’re not a big fan of art as you’ve never actually seen it. Absolutely unbelievable.”

The university student is a content creator in his spare time who makes videos about being blind.

He said he will use the money to help pay off his student debt and to buy a new car for his girlfriend.
