Community groups saw an increase in the number of interested volunteers last week after the success of the Radcliffe Volunteers Fair.
Outreach Community and Residential Services say more than 100 people went to its Blackburn Street café on Wednesday, March 15 to explore what their groups do.
With 15 volunteer organisations coming together under one roof, Outreach say they are looking to repeat the event once every quarter.
Outreach volunteer programme manager, Norman Shaw, said: “We saw 15 volunteer organisations come together under one roof to promote volunteering and encourage potential volunteers to join their respective organisations and/or projects.
“The volunteers fair also gave representatives of organisations the opportunity to showcase and network, finding out about other organisations in Radcliffe and Bury and how they could possibly work together in the future.”
The fair ran from 10am until 3pm, attracting more than 100 visitors, many of who registered their interest in volunteering.
Norman said: “There was more footfall than last year, and more people interested in the organisations.
“Many people were also impressed with the largely volunteer-run Outreach contemporary coffee lounge and community space and we received some amazing feedback.”
The event which was organised by Norman Shaw and Tony Foster, volunteer coordinators for Bury Voluntary Community and Faith Alliance, who both thanked everyone adding that they want to encourage people to "be the difference that makes the difference to individuals and our shared communities".
