The member of the public said: “The electric scooter is constantly on Blackburn Road.

“I have reported it several times and nothing has been done.

“He goes past Blackburn Road.

“He must be doing 30 miles per hour at the time.

“I have been told this is low priority which I totally disagree with.”

At the meeting Neighbourhood Inspector Lisa Clarke said incoming calls go to a “grading system." with incidents prioritised.

Cllr Walsh said: “It is a big concern because there are more and more of them (scooters), but there is one who his seen on Blackburn Road.

“I have had several people come to me about it.

“On Tuesday evening I was driving to the meeting and the scooter came rushing down Blackburn Road.

“There was one lane of traffic going north and three going south and he just cut across them, he was 90 degrees.

“That is more dangerous than going in the opposite direction.

“They are like off road bikes, they are not insured and no registered, it is very concerning, by abusing the system they are putting themselves and others into danger.

“I have been hearing about this for five to six weeks.

“I know that GMP have been aware of it for some time.

“They have been to take action but it’s about being in the right place at the right time, stopping somebody can be extremely difficult."
