Doffcocker Lodge

It became known as Bolton’s first nature reserve in the early 1990’s and features a disused reservoir, which was created for a mill in the late nineteenth century.

It is a highly popular destination for many dog walkers.

Jumbles Country Park

There are so many scenic views to be seen at this park, which is only four miles north of the town centre.

Along the walk people can enjoy a route around the reservoir, as well stopping at a café along the way.

There are so many different footpaths to choose from, there is sure to be something for everyone.

The Bolton News:

Lower Rivington Reservoir

This is a hugely popular tourist destination and is the most southerly of a chain of reservoirs that run from Rivington to Abbey Village.

There is also a network of paths on the eastern side which connect to attractions such as Liverpool Castle, Go Ape, the Great House Barn, Rivington Hall Barn, and much more.

Driving by car is usually the best option, with several car parks close to the eastern shore, with the most southerly route being just off Rivington Lane and the nearest car park at Liverpool Castle.
