HEAD for the Hills, a two-day, open air music festival will return to Bury in September,

Early bird tickets for the festival - part of is part of Burrs Live, a five day outdoor event at Burrs Country Park - go on sale tomorrow and the headliners have been revealed.

On Friday, September 1, the line-up will be led by The Proclaimers and will also feature Katherine Priddy, Izzie Walsh and Mr Wilson’s Second Liners.

The Saturday line-up will be headlines by Two Tone pioneers The Selecter plus Dutch Uncles, Elephant Sessions and Urban Theory

More artists for both days will be announced later.

The event is being organised by Bury Met who promise two full days of great music across two stages, artisan food and craft beer, arts areas, strolling theatre, circus skills workshops and lots of family fun.

Friday night headliners The Proclaimers - twins Craig and Charlie Reid are celebrating 40 years making music. They have had a string of hits including I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles), Letter From America and Sunshine on Leith. They released their twelfth album, Dentures Out, last year.

The Selecter were at the forefront of the 2-Tone movement in the early 80s and had hits including Missing Words, Three Minute Hero and On My Radio. The band features original members Pauline Black and Arthur ‘Gaps’ Henderson sharing vocal duties.

As well as the two days of Head for the Hills, Burrs Live will also see The Bootleg Beatles performing live on Wednesday, August 30. Two further events for Thursday, August 31 and Sunday, September 3 will be unveiled soon.

Both full festival tickets for both days of Head for the Hills and separate day tickets will be available. A limited number of early bird tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon from www./themet.org.uk.
