A gripping classic drama, a sensational musical adventure, a hilarious comedy, and a timeless novel are all part of an exciting new season unveiled by the Octagon Theatre, Bolton.

Kicking off the autumn/winter season will be a cutting-edge version of Arthur Miller’s powerful drama A View From a Bridge which runs from Friday, September 8 to Saturday, September 30.

The Octagon will then present Jeeves & Wooster In Perfect Nonsense from Wednesday, October 4 to Saturday, October 21 - a dazzling and inventive new comedy adapted from the works of PG Wodehouse and directed by Marieke Audsley who as behind the recent production Ladies’ Day at the Octagon.

For the festive season, the Octagon is staging a world premiere, a rip roaring musical version of Jules Verne’s Around the World in 80 Days which runs from Thursday, November 13 to Saturday, January 13.

The final offering for the new season will be a new production of George Orwell’s Animal Farm.

The Octagon’s Artistic Director, Lotte Wakeham, said: “Our audiences have expressed their love of classics and adaptations of novels, and we have some really exciting productions for them in the coming season. From really meaty dramas including a gripping new production of Arthur Miller’s visceral drama A View from the Bridge and Orwell’s iconic story of tyranny and rebellion in Animal Farm, to our world premiere musical adaptation of Around the World in 80 Days, which promises a visual spectacular as we take audiences on a journey around the globe, there will be something for everyone.

“The season also has a feast of family entertainment – we are really passionate about encouraging younger audiences into the Octagon and giving them their first experience of live theatre, so I am thrilled we have such a varied programme for families.”

There is a whole host of shows aimed at younger audiences lined up and the Octagon’s comedy club will be held twice a month due to its popularity starting in July.
