A Bolton eatery has been handed a new food hygiene rating after recent inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated one Bolton takeaway a new two out of five rating.

Lok Yuen, a takeaway at 157 Market Street, Farnworth, Bolton was given the score after assessment on March 22, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

In the eatery’s inspection report it states improvement is necessary for the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building whilst the management of food safety is generally satisfactory.

It means that of Bolton's 374 takeaways with ratings, 143 (38 per cent) have ratings of five and just four have zero ratings.
