Fire crews were called to a building site after rubbish caught fire.
Crews from Bolton Central and Farnworth alerted around 6.30pm on Wednesday following reports of a fire on St Helens Road, Bolton.
Firefighters say that the fire took place at a building that was under construction.
Fire crews remained on the scene until around 7pm.
A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “At around 6:30pm today (Wednesday May 3), firefighters were called to reports of a fire on St Helens Road in Bolton.
“Four fire engines from Bolton Central and Farnworth fire stations quickly attended the scene, which involved a small quantity of rubbish at a building under construction.
“Firefighters used a hose reel and gas detector to extinguish the fire.
“Firefighters left the scene at around 7pm.”
An eyewitness who was passing through also says they saw multiple police cars also on the scene.
Police have been approached for comment.
