Police have launched a murder investigation after a man who was ‘found injured’ in Salford has died.

Greater Manchester Police were called to Seedley Road, Salford, after the man was found injured this evening, Friday, May 5.

He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5.10pm.

A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning as investigations into the incident continue.

There is currently a scene in place from Fitzwarren Street to Seedley Road.

Superintendent Joe Harrop said: "Detectives from the Major Incident Team are now investigating the murder and it is believed there is no risk to the wider community, as it appears to be an isolated incident.

"We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident this evening, or if anyone has any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage, to contact us via 101."
