Hundreds of people celebrated the coronation of King Charles III in Ladybridge, with residents asking for it to become an annual event.

The fun day was held on the bank holiday Monday, May 8 with plenty of free games, activities and treats available.

It was organised by the Ladybridge Residents Association at the Ladybridge Community Centre.

A spokesperson for the residents association said: “The fun day was planned with the hope it would bring the Ladybridge residents together and kindle some community spirit.

“At the same time, it shone a light on Ladybridge Community centre.

“A building we are so fortunate to have at the heart of our estate, hosting many different classes and groups.

The Bolton News:

“We are all keen for the centre to continue to thrive and grow and this cannot happen without the generosity of others, giving up their valuable time to volunteer.

“Monday was a shining example of a community at its best.

“So many people pulled together to make the day happen and what a fantastic turn out there was.

“The Women's Institute did us proud, preparing and serving up refreshments.

“Neighbours and friends helped decorate the centre and man the stalls.

“The committee could not have held this day without their help, and we'd like to say a big thank you to everyone, not just on the day, but in the planning stages and the days building up to it.

“The more we pull together, the more we can achieve.”
