The Scythe is a busy town centre pub with a quaint little beer garden that many regulars treat as their local. Research has shown it to be the 4th oldest in Britain. With its great atmosphere the pub boasts some of the longest-serving staff for many a mile around.

There is live music every Friday and Saturday night. A huge variety of real ciders brings people from all over the land whilst the history of the pub draws visitors from all over the world! Ever-changing Real ales, lagers and a very extensive top shelf top it all off. We are also proud to offer a great selection of the finest malt whiskies around. Bolton’s own Carrs pasties are available for those cheeky snack mo­ments.

Increasing costs of gas/electricity, and cost of stock forcing us to increase our prices. As we are not part of any chain, we cannot compete with other pubs.
