Tickets to see some of the country's top chefs at the award-winning Bolton Food and Drink Festival have gone on sale.

Kicking off the show on the Saturday is festival newbie and much-loved chef, stylist and presenter, Gok Wan, taking a spin in the kitchen and showcasing some of his delicious Chinese cooking.

On Sunday Mowgli phenomenon, Nisha Katona, is expected to wow guests with her infectious passion for Indian food, bringing new, simple recipes to Bolton.

Monday is headlined by festival icon James Martin, whose ever-popular cookery demos bring with them a love of cuisines from around the world and a lesson on how to recreate some tasty dishes.

The rest of the weekend’s recipe is equally as exciting as the team behind award-winning festival have organised a whole menu of special events to go on sale soon, including Bottomless Brunch, comedy dining experiences, and a one-time DJ set by Gok Wan and friends.

All topped off with lots of regional chef cookery demos, over 200 market traders, two live music stages, fun children’s activities, and plenty of strolling street entertainment.

Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Nick Peel, said: “Summer in Bolton is a great time of year with the extensive events schedule bringing hustle and bustle back into the town centre along with local spending at local businesses.

“Our celebrity chef line-up this year is one of the best we’ve had and I am looking forward to welcoming them to the town to celebrate 18 years of this fantastic event.”

Bolton Council’s Executive Cabinet Member for Culture, Cllr Nadeem Ayub, said: “I’m delighted we’ve got two brand new celebrity chefs joining us this year – we’ve got a real mix of cultures and cuisines.

“I’d urge people to secure tickets while they can, the celeb demos usually sell out quickly and we want everybody to have a chance.”

Tickets are on sale now and they are selling fast.
