Travel authorities have issued an update ahead of P!INK's two-day stint at the University of Bolton Stadium.

The international popstar is due to start her Summer Carnival World Tour 2023 in Bolton tomorrow, Wednesday, June 7, playing for two nights at Bolton Wanderers' home.

Concertgoers had previously been advised to plan their journeys in advance, with almost 70,000 fans flocking to the stadium across the two days.

Today, Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) have issued a travel update ahead of the gigs.

Shuttle buses will run to the stadium from surrounding train stations and Horwich Parkway Station car park will be closed in efforts to organise the large number of attendees.

A TfGM spokesperson said: "Horwich Parkway Station car park will be closed from 5.30pm on Wednesday and Thursday evening, due to the P!nk concert at the ground.

"All vehicles need to be removed before this time. Alternative parking is available at Lostock or Westhoughton stations."

The spokesperson added: "Tomorrow, June 7, P!nk takes to the stage at the UoB Stadium.

"Shuttle buses will run from Bolton Interchnage, Chorley Railway Station and Wigan Robin Park (2-8pm).

"Public transport options are limited, so ensure you plan ahead."

The council, Bolton Wanderers Football Club, transport operators and Greater Manchester Police are working together to make travel to and from the stadium as stress free as possible by having well-rehearsed event travel and transport plans in place.

This includes a traffic management system to avoid over-congestion on public transport and on the roads on both dates.

For those wishing to drive there will be very limited spaces available at the University of Bolton Stadium so parking needs to be purchased in advance.

According to the council, there is still expected to be heavy traffic congestion in the area between 2pm and 9.30pm on both days from concertgoers arriving, and then again from approximately 10.30pm when visitors exit the stadium concert site.

A trio of guests will accompany P!NK for two nights at the University of Bolton Stadium which include DJ and producer KidCutUp who will get the party started and is well known to the P!NK audience as he was special guest on the "Beautiful Trauma World Tour".

Hot off the back of her viral breakout single "abcdefu", 17-year-old Nashville born singer-songwriter GAYLE will be making her first UK live show appearance since her Reading and Leeds festival appearances in 2022.

Irish rock band The Script will also be playing hits from their 14-year career which has seen them score five UK number one albums, 30m single sales, 11m album sales, 13m monthly Spotify listeners, more than 6bn streams, and 2m tickets sold across headline shows globally.

The concerts will be held in the stadium, with music starting at 5.30pm and finishing by 11pm on each day.
