Food hygiene inspectors have given mixed scores to four Bolton takeaways in the latest round of inspections.

Golden Chopsticks at 471 Leigh Road, Westhoughton, was given top marks, five out of five, after an inspection on June 14, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

In the inspection report it states the eatery is very good in all areas.

Dexter's Chicken Pizza and Grill Ltd at 18 Higher Market Street, Farnworth, was given three stars after a visit on May 4.

The report states the eatery is generally satisfactory in all areas.

Wingville at 55 Market Street scored two stars after being inspected on May 3.

The inspection report states the hygienic food handling, and the management of food safety are generally satisfactory while improvement is necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

And Fratelli at 19 Market Street, Little Lever, was only awarded one star after inspection on June 15.

The report said the hygienic food handling is generally satisfactory, improvement is necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and major improvement is necessary for the management of food safety.

It means that of Bolton's 367 similar establishments with ratings, 143 (39 per cent) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
