An inquest opened into the death of a man who was discovered dead in Westhoughton.

Kyle James Wilson, aged 29, was discovered dead at his address on New Drake Green in April.

At Bolton Coroner' Court this week an inquest opened into the death before area coroner Peter Sigee.

A Police Coroner's Officer, Rachael O'Driscoll, outlined the circumstances of the incident.

Ms O'Driscoll said: "A call was made to the police from North West Ambulance Service regarding the death of a man.

"He was a user of drugs which were believed to have been taken in the lead up to his death."

A post mortem at Royal Bolton concluded these drugs were the cause of Mr Wilson's death.

Mr Sigee asked for statements from a GP, Greater Manchester Police and other services and adjourned the inquest until October.

Mr Sigee said: "May I take this opportunity to offer my condolences to Mr Wilson's family and friends.

"I am sorry I have to learn about him in these circumstances."
