More objections to to build four new homes on green land in Bolton have emerged.

An applicant from Bury has sought permission to build five new homes in land off New Heys Delph in Harwood.

A site plan uploaded shows the homes would be near Brookbottom Cottage and in the field nearby.

But multiple nearby residents raised objections citing the impact the plans would have on the narrow footpath nearby.

And now a Public Rights of Way officer has also objected to the plans claiming they create a "potential for conflict between pedestrians and vehicles."

They said: "There does not appear to be adequate information to make a reasoned decision as to how the integrity of the public right of way will be retained.

"The Public Right of Way leads along the access route to the proposed development and there appears to potential for conflict between pedestrians and vehicles.

"The access route appears to be inadequate to safely accommodate traffic associated with this development and persons using this public right of way.

"It is therefore considered that insufficient information has been provided by the applicant and I must therefore place an objection until satisfied that this development will not affect this public right of way."

Tony Bolton, who lives nearby, was one of the nearby residents to object.

The 57-year-old: "It will be in a conservation area, it is in close proximity to a public footpath.

"The area does not need more houses, it needs the green space for dog walkers and children.

"It will cause more pollution in the area.

"It is not wanted.

"People use the footpath from 6am to 10pm.

"I do not know anyone who is in support of it."

The plans were made by Bury man Donald Taylor from Hawkshaw.

The agency of the applicant, KG Planning, declined to comment on the objections to the plan.
