A number of roadworks are taking place at various points on a busy Bolton road.

Roadworks on Crompton Way at the Minster Road junction in Tonge Moor are due to come to an end today (Tuesday August 1), following work carried out by Openreach.

There is also a lane closure on Crompton Way before Laycock Avenue, which is due to be completed on Friday August 4.

Ward councillor Cllr Emily Mort said: “Every week roadworks is updated on the council website.

“If work is going on for weeks, we will get a poster to send out.

“These particular works have been carried out during the holidays when the roads are not as busy.

“It is also the responsibility of the external contractor if the works are going to affect an individual property.

“Temporary lights were installed for the safety of the road users and the Openreach staff.

“There will also be an information board at the roadworks, giving details with contact information.”

Bolton Council is also set to put a traffic order in place from August 21 between 9.30am until 3.30pm.

The order will prohibit all traffic from travelling on the access road near the Firwood Day Centre and shops on Crompton Way.

This work is to allow electricity works to take place.

The order will end after 18 months or on completion of the works.
