Two emergency services incidents were seen in Bolton this evening.

Police, fire and ambulance services were called to a property on Huxley Street in Halliwell at just after 5pm to reports of a concern for welfare.

Neighbouring houses were evacuated due to a possible gas leak.

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said: "Greater Manchester Police, alongside colleagues from NWAS and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, attended a property on Huxley Street in Bolton at 5.21pm today (Saturday 5 August 2023) following reports of a concern for welfare.

"As a precaution, neighbouring houses have been evacuated due to a possible gas leak."

A GMFRS spokesperson said they were called out to a potential gas leak on Huxley Street, but there wasn't anything for them to deal with.

They said it was a police led incident.

An eyewitness said: "Police, fire and ambulance service called to an incident on Huxley Street, Bolton.

"Scene quiet now, Cadent gas have arrived."

Police and ambulance services were also seen outside The Lamb on Blackburn Road at around 7.15pm today.

Speaking at the time, a resident said: "There's something outside I think The Lamb on Blackburn Road.

"It looks like a car has maybe hit a cyclist. The windscreen is smashed in."

Another resident said: "I just saw a cyclist on the floor and lots of people around him.

"I know an accident happened. It happens a lot."
