Food hygiene inspectors have rated six eateries in Bolton in the latest round of inspections.

Examining food handling, the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety, inspectors have rated two eateries a five out of five rating, two eateries a three out of five and two eateries a two out of five rating.

The Food Standards Agency’s website shows Great Lever Children's Nursery at Great Lever Childrens Centre, Leonard Street, Bolton, was rated a five on July 26.

The inspection report states the hygienic food handling is very good whilst the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and the management of food safety are both good.

Cafe Chico at 185 St Helens Road, Bolton, was also rated a five after inspection on July 20.

The inspection report states the eatery is good in all areas.

Saff's Kitchen at 91 Lever Street, Little Lever, Bolton, was rated a three on June 30.

The inspection report states the management of food safety is good whilst the hygienic food handling and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building are both generally satisfactory.

Subway at Bridgeman Place Garage, Bridgeman Place, was also rated a three after inspection on June 30.

Two eateries have recently been handed two out of five hygiene ratings.

Big Mamma Bolton, at 89 St Georges Avenue, Westhoughton, was handed a two-out-of-five rating after assessment on July 4.

The inspection report states both the hygienic food handling and management of food safety are generally satisfactory whilst improvement is necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

And Curry Centre, at 68 Egerton Street, Farnworth, Bolton was also given a score of two on July 4.

The inspection report states both the hygienic food handling, and the management of food safety are generally satisfactory whilst improvement is necessary for the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building.

It means that of Bolton's 369 takeaways with ratings, 145 (39 per cent) have ratings of five and just three have zero ratings.
