Various roads in the town centre will be closed for the Bolton Food and Drink Festival.

Bolton Council has made an order which will enable the Bolton Food and Drink Festival to take place on specific roads, between 6am Monday, August 21 and 6pm Wednesday, August 30.

The temporary road closures to be in place:

  • Le Mans Crescent from Howell Croft North to Howell Croft South;
  • Deansgate from Market Street to Knowsley Street;
  • Howell Croft North from Back Deansgate to Le Mans Crescent;
  • Ashburner Street from Queen Street to Howell Croft South;
  • Howell Croft South from Ashburner Street to Victoria Square South;
  • Coronation Street from Victoria Square South to the Newport Arcade;
  • Victoria Square North from Le Mans Crescent to Victoria Square;
  • Victoria Square South from Le Mans Crescent to Coronation Street;
  • Corporation Street from Knowsley Street to Bridge Street;
  • Market Street from Corporation Street to Hotel Street;
  • Lorne Street between Bridge Street and Market Street;
  • Old Hall Street between Deansgate and Victoria Square North
  • Mealhouse Lane between Hotel Street and Deansgate
  • Hotel Street between Market Street and Mealhouse Lane

As well as the temporary road closures there will also be a temporary suspension of the Contra-Flow bus lane on Blackhorse Street between Deansgate and Ashburner Street.

Temporary taxi stands are also set to be established on Deansgate from 14m west of Howell Croft North for 55m in the westerly direction.

Diversion routes will be signposted for drivers to travel around the area with ease.

The Bolton Food and Drink Festival is set to return this August Bank Holiday, Friday August 25 to Monday August 28 with a star-studded chef line-up.

Attendees will see Gok Wan take a spin in the main demo kitchen with some tasty Chinese cookery demos and then take to the decks in an all-new DJ set, Mowgli Street Food’s Nisha will be showcasing her love of Indian cooking in a range of cookery demos, James Martin with his second-to-none culinary skills, Michael Caines MBE will be kicking off the weekend’s celebrations and finally MasterChef 2023 winner Chariya Khattiyot is set to make her professional cookery debut.
