Straight of the back of their success at the Greater Manchester Drama Federation (GMDF) Awards, Farnworth Little Theatre is back with its opening production of the 2023-24 season.

The J.Lees-Jones Shield for the best overall drama was won by Farnworth Little Theatre.

A Party to Murder is set in the eerie atmosphere of a rustic island cottage, where six individuals have gathered on Halloween night to indulge in a suspense-filled murder mystery game. As the story unfolds, the boundaries between reality and imagination blur, and the players find themselves entangled in a web of intrigue and terror.

The audience can expect secret passageways, incriminating letters, hidden compartments and surprises at every turn in this haunting mystery.

The cast of A Party to Murder will leave audiences on the edge of their seats as they masterfully portray the complex emotions and chilling suspense of the narrative.

Nick Eccles plays Charles Prince, Daisy Leather as Henri Addison, Esme Mather as Valerie Addison, Joe Beck making his debut at Farnworth Little Theatre as Willy Yaskovitch, Julie Burrell as Mckenzie Arnold, and Robin Thompson as Elwood O’Callaghan.

A Party to Murder is directed by Dave Eyre, who can usually be found behind the scenes as stage manager, set builder and on the play selection committee at Farnworth Little Theatre.

Dave has directed titles at Farnworth Little Theatre including Life of Riley, Don’t Dress for Dinner, The Game and Albert Nobbs.

Dave said: “A Party to Murder has been a lot of fun to direct and we can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on with audiences. Without giving too much away, there’s a lot of technical surprises in this play - it’s a really suspenseful thriller that will leave you guessing right until the very end.”
