A library will be closed for a short time for urgent works to take place.

The work will be carried out at Farnworth Library to repair areas affected by dry rot.

This includes the main entrance doors.

The library is set to be closed between September 25 and October 9 and customers will be given information of how to access their closest library during the closure.

According to Farnworth and Kearlsey First councillors, book fines will be removed during the duration, so customers are not out of pocket.

A spokesperson for Bolton Library and Museum Services said: “Please note that Farnworth Library will be closed for essential maintenance from Monday 25 September to Monday 9 October.

“Apologies for any inconvenience. All our other libraries are open as usual.
