WE love to shine the spotlight on local venues where you can socialise with family and friends in our Pub of the Week feature.

This time we have spoken to Adam Griffiths at C about being behind the bar at this Bolton pub.

Name of the pub:

The Hulton Arms

Address of the pub:

Newbrook Road

Landlord/landlady name:

Adam Griffiths

How long have you been the landlord/landlady for?

10 weeks

Bar staff and their names:

Linzi, Nichola, Chelsea and Sarah

Give us some history about the pub:

What attracted us to the place is that it is a really good local pub. I used to run the Red Lion across from the road from it for 22 years.

We put fresh food on and homemade chips which everyone raves about.

The vibe has changed completely and on a Friday chippy tea – two meals for £10 and it can get quite packed.

Is food served? If so what’s on the menu?

Yes, food is served, with a home-cooked pub menu including real homemade chips

Is there a beer garden?

Yes, 20 tables

Do you have any darts/snooker/pool teams?

Yes, we have both

Most popular drink served is:

Cruzcampo and Wainwrights

Most memorable moment at the pub:

We have only been here for 10 weeks, but having 101-year-old lady to be our first customer for food was a great honour

Do you have an entertainment line-up?

Yes, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Have you faced any challenges within the industry?

Yes, trade can be slow, however since putting food on it’s been fantastic

The best thing about running a pub is...

The people you meet

The worst thing about running a pub is...

The prices that breweries charge

The perfect hangover cure is...

All-day breakfast
