Abacus Oriental Restaurant has been located at Middlebrook for a quarter of a century but bosses announced that the lease will expire in October, and they will be closing their doors for good.

The staff thanked local people for their custom over the years.

“But also in hospitality, it’s harder to get the next recruits along these days, especially chefs where the younger ones can learn from the older ones before they retire.

“The guys are retiring we can’t commit to a long-term lease based on those factors.”
