A burglar was jailed this week after admitting to stealing several hundred pounds worth of tools from a pub.
Scott Robinson, 45, was brought before Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Friday September 16 accused of burgling the Red Lion pub on Church Street, Atherton.
According to Greater Manchester Police’s Leigh, Atherton and Hindley district he was accused of stealing electrical items and tools worth around £1,450 on July 9 and pleaded guilty to a single count of burglary.
A GMP spokesperson said: “Scott Robinson, of Thompson House, Atherton appeared at court on Friday September 15 2023 and pleaded guilty to burglary at The Red Lion public house, Church Street, Atherton and has received 26 weeks imprisonment.
“This was following an investigation by the Atherton and Tyldesley Neighbourhood Team and assistance from the Wigan Offender Management Unit.”
Robinson’s guilty plea was taken into account when his sentence was passed.
Police officers have appealed for anyone with any concerns about burglary or other forms of crime or anti-social behaviour in their areas to get in touch by calling 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
