Two well-known TV stars are hosting a fundraising meal at a top Bolton restaurant for a good reason.
For one night only Indian restaurant and takeaway Achari will provide a two-course meal for £25 per person, with a percentage of the proceeds going to Destination Florida Children’s Charity.
And former Coronation Street star Bruce Jones, alongside Emmerdale Joe-Warren Plant, will be presenting live entertainment, a raffle, and more.
Children from across Greater Manchester, including Bolton were lucky enough to go to Florida on September 9 2023 thanks to sponsorships from companies and fundraising events.

One of the organisers Matthew Davidge said: “This fundraising meal is a thank you to everybody who donated.

“The charity has been going for quite a few years.
“It helps the volunteers and there are some quite well-known faces too.
“It’s nice to have two well-known faces, especially Joe because he hasn’t been in Bolton for a while.
“It’s also a chance for all the volunteers to get together after a week away.”
Destination Disney formed in 1987, which took inspiration from a group of northern based children who were nominated to go on a trip to Florida through a London based charity, despite not being selected.
The aim was to provide a holiday of a lifetime for children with life-threatening illnesses and conditions who were living in the northern part of England, which led to Destination Florida being born.
Matthew added: “It’s very important because there are a lot of families who are struggling with the way things are, and if they have a child with additional needs, charities like this mean a lot.

“The children come back with big smiles on their faces and can’t believe they have gone to Florida.
“It is also good for children to get a bit of respite as well, so it’s just as important for the parents as it is for the children too.”
The charity night will take place on October 4 at the restaurant on 148-152 Crook Street from 6.30pm, and dining from 7pm.
The ticket price will include a free drink upon arrival.
Advanced bookings are essential due to limited spaces available, and it is non-refundable.
Funds will be raised on the night from the raffle, and a charity bucket, which will all go towards helping the charity.
