A man has been jailed after driving through Horwich at high speeds before abandoning the vehicle.
Paul Battersby was driving his Ford Ecosport in the town after police spotted him driving at dangerous speeds.

He abandoned the car and ran into his home address where he was detained.
He was sentenced to four months and has been disqualified from driving for five years.

A spokesperson for GMP Traffic said: “RPTF (Roads Policing Taskforce) patrols would sight a Ford Ecosport in Horwich at high speed, the driver abandoned the car and ran into his home address and was detained.
“Paul Battersby was charged and remanded with disqualification of driving.
“At court he received a 16-week custodial sentence and five-year disqualification.”
