TV production crews have rolled into Bolton town centre ahead of filming for a hit ITV police drama.

Crews were setting up in Le Mans Crescent, a backdrop in many film and TV dramas, to start filming the second series of Ridley.

Filming for the series has been taking place around Bolton in recent weeks.

The street has featured in critically acclaimed television shows including It’s a Sin, Peaky Blinders and White Lines.

Ahead of the Bolton Film Festival - which also begins today – the town will again be able to showcase its talent to a national audience.

Cllr Nadeem Ayub said: “Regular filming around the town centre is great for the economy. We are excited to showcase our talents and it is key for our strategies in growing the town.”

Ridley which features former Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar who again fills the role of a police officer.

This time he plays a retired detective who is enticed back into the service when his former protégée needs help uncovering a series of complex murders.

A date for the series is yet to be announced.
