Home Secretary Suella Braverman dropped into Bolton Lads and Girls Club whilst in Manchester for the Conservative Party Conference.
A spokesperson from Bolton Lads and Girls Club said: "On Tuesday we received an impromptu visit from the Home Secretary to BLGC. We were not informed of who would be visiting, aside from that it was a Senior Minister.
"The Home Secretary came to BLGC and showed a genuine interest and admiration for the work we do, the families and children we support and the brilliant staff and volunteers who make it all happen."
As well as meeting volunteers she also took part in activities.
This comes after the £2.4m revamp of BLGC's flagship Spa Road Centre last year.
The revamp saw a fresh new look, with many new facilities such as a new fitness suite; Astro turf pitch; music studio; art room; sports hall; a free of charge gym; gaming room; and toilets regardless of gender.
