A man from Lancashire has seen his account balance swell overnight after being a lucky winner on the EuroMillions.

The man, known only as Mr C, scooped £1 million after winning in the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker in the draw on Friday, September 15.

Mr C has said he will be putting away his seven-figure prize to save for the future.

Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at The National Lottery, said, “What incredible news for Mr. C for winning this fantastic prize.

"His savings have grown by a million pounds overnight!”

Mr C is one of more than eight million players who win each week on The National Lottery’s range of games.

Interactive winners have the opportunity to release their name, remain anonymous, or like this winner, release some details through partial publicity.

For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket, creating a millionaire in every draw.

As well as offering the chance to win life-changing amounts of money, the National Lottery has also raised hundreds of millions of pounds for good causes across the country over the years.

Thanks to National Lottery players, £30 million is generated every week for National Lottery-funded projects.

This money helps fund projects across the nation, with more than 670,000 grants - supporting projects both big and small - having been made across the UK to date.
