Spice Valley, Achari and Bradshaw Tandoori finalists in ARTA

Three have been named as finalists in Pan Asian cuisine in the UK.

The Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA) will take place tomorrow with the most popular Asian restaurateurs alongside MPs, dignitaries, and celebrities.

Spice Valley in Horwich and Achari in Bolton will be competing for the regional restaurant of the year award for the North West.

“We have achieved a lot, but we still need to achieve more, but we have a goal, and we will keep doing our best.

“It would be fantastic if we won, and it would be a big reward for us because we had Covid and with everything that is going on right now.

“We are like family to whoever walks in that door.”

Uttam says that one of the things that sets his business apart is the authentic Indian food, which can be customised based on someone’s spice preference.

Bradshaw Tandoori in Bolton also made it to the finals in the regional takeaway of the year for the North West, and will be going head to head with three others.

Owner of the takeaway Mohammad Shelim said: “We are a small business based in Bradshaw, Bolton, and we have been there for 30 years and have built up some great relationships in the area, and have served a huge range of customers in the area.

“I believe based on the reviews we have been noticed for what we do.

“We have received a lot of support from customers in the area who helped push us forward.

“We have never received an award before so it’s really special.

“If we won it would be such a huge achievement for all our work over the years.”

The ceremony will be hosted by BBC presenters, Samantha Simmonds, and Paul Martin.

The finest Asian restaurants and takeaways from across the UK will come together in the hope of being recognised as the best restaurant in their region or nationally and honoured with a jewel in the crown of the UK Asian restaurant industry award sector.
