Police were on the scene of an organised firework display over the weekend.

The display was set up in the Bradshaw area and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said that neighbourhood team and special constabulary officers would be in attendance.

Speaking on Saturday, a GMP spokesperson said that they hoped to help the event run smoothly and that Bolton Council staff would also be on the scene to help work with young people.

They said: “The Bolton North Neighbourhood Team and officers from the Special Constabulary will be out and about around the Bradshaw area this evening while an organised firework display is underway.

“Officers will be ensuring that the event goes ahead with minimal disruption to the community as possible.

“We will be attending and dealing with any reports of anti-social behaviour.

“Staff from Bolton Council's targeted youth services team will also be in the area, engaging with local youths.

“An officer from Bolton Council's Parking Services department will be ensuring vehicles are being parked considerately.

“If you are attending this event, we hope you have a safe and enjoyable evening.
