Opening of Weston's Cash and Carry, Bolton, 1963
This photograph was taken in January 1963 to mark the opening of Bolton’s largest ‘supermarket for shopkeepers’.
Weston’s Cash and Carry Warehouse on Nile Street stocked everything from groceries to hardware.
Here the first customers who all ran their own shops in the town are pictured filling up their trolleys.
