Neighbours said it had been upsetting, but not surprising, to hear about the incident.

One person said: “I have lived here all my life and there have been a few incidents over the years so I am not surprised there is a murder investigation taking place on the estate”.

Another, who has lived on the street for over 60 years added: “It is awful, there seems to have be a lot going on like that.

"We didn't hear anything last night, but I feel very sorry for whoever it was.
