A 4 part story taken from the shows' fourteenth season, it was the final story in the Fourth Doctor's (Tom Baker) third season in 1976.
This Gothic-inspired tale has everything: a fanatical scientist called Professor Solon (Philip Madoc) with a servant named Condo. There's even an ancient sect and a hint of Frankenstein.
The Doctor and Sarah Jane Snith (Elisabeth Sladen) arrive on the planet Karn where they are welcomed by Solon who appears to be the perfect host. However, in his laboratory he is working to bring back to life Morbius, an exiled and criminal Time Lord. To complete the process Solon needs just one more thing - the Doctor's head.
The Sisterhood of Karn are also out to kill the Doctor to avenge themselves against the Time Lords.
One of the more sinister stories, and rated PG, this release comes with some extras. The obligatory commentary (featuring Baker, Sladen and Madoc); a 3D CGI tour of the studio; an interview with designer Barry Newbery and a documentary on the making of the story narrated by the Eighth Doctor, Paul McGann.
One more for the databanks K9?
