Police were called to an attempted burglary at a house in Tonge Moor after the occupant awoke to find four males in the garden - with one peering through the window.

Now officers have issues crime prevention advice to keep themselves and their property safe.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Neighbourhood Police said:"Officers attended reports of an attempted burglary at a house on Starkie Road earlier this week.

"This occurred around 4am on Monday 13th November 2023. The occupant was woken up to find four males in their garden and one peering through the living room window."

This morning, officers from the neighbourhood team have arrested two 'wanted' men,

A52-year-old man who failed to attend court on 25/08/21 for road traffic matters was picked up by police.

A 41-year-old man is also in police custody after failing to appear in court in September over a theft charge

Both remain in police custody and will be taken to court tomorrow morning.
