Bolton is set to be wet and cold as the weekend comes to an end – with heavy rain and high winds hitting the borough.

The Met Office has predicated Bolton is set to be hit with heavy rain until 9pm with high winds of 33mph.

Heavy showers are predicted to start easing through the evening with cloud breaking up to leave clear spells.

Some showers remain though, as strong westerly winds ease overnight, feeling mild, with a minimum temperature of 9°C.

4pm: Heavy rain - 11°C – wind gusts of 30mph.

5pm: Heavy rain - 11°C – wind gusts of 32mph.

6pm: Heavy rain - 11°C – wind gusts of 33mph.

7pm: Heavy rain - 11°C – wind gusts of 32mph.

8pm: Heavy rain - 11°C – wind gusts of 30mph.

9pm: Light rain - 11°C – wind gusts of 29mph.

10pm: Cloudy - 10°C – wind gusts of 28mph.

11pm: Partly cloudy - 10°C – wind gusts of 27mph.

Midnight: Partly cloudy - 9°C – wind gusts of 24mph.

Moving into Monday, the weather will be cloudy to begin with, with sunnier spells developing into the afternoon.

Light winds shift to a more northerly breeze, bringing light rain into the north and west by the evening.
