Police have arrested a man after he was caught drink driving while disqualified.
Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers stopped a white Ford Transit in Horwich last night, Wednesday, November 23, 'due to its manner of driving'.
However, its driver was found to be over the legal alcohol limit, as well as having been disqualified.
Police arrested the man and seized the van.
A spokesperson from GMP's Bolton West neighbourhood team said: "Whilst out and about on patrol in Horwich last night (22/11/23) officers had cause to stop a van due to the manner of driving.
"When the driver was spoken to he was found to be over the prescribed alcohol limit and also a disqualified driver.
"The driver was arrested and charged with a number of driving offences and will be appearing in court. The van was seized under Section 165a of the Road traffic act 1988.
"During the festive season it can be tempting to drive after a drink. The consequences can be fatal. None for the road."
This comes after police launched the GM-wide 'Your Car Can’t Say No' campaign in Bolton over summer.
The campaign warns drivers of the devastating consequences of getting behind the wheel after taking drugs or drinking alcohol.
