Bolton College has partnered with one of the region’s leading car dealerships to “equip future generations.”

This comes after the Deane Road based college’s Vehicle Employer Academy partnered with the RRG Group and was chose to receive brand new Toyota car parts.

The college will now act as a distribution hub, with colleges across the region collecting parts for training purposes and has also received parts for its own students.

Bolton College head of engineering and motor vehicle Peter Alstead said: “Yet again, the RRG Group have offered us a fantastic opportunity, giving us and motor vehicle students across Greater Manchester access to high-quality resources and equipment.

“I am very grateful to Toyota for their extremely generous donation and to Stephen, for the huge amount of time and effort he made to make this happen.

“Motor vehicle students across the region will benefit from this greatly. 

“Toyota and the RRG Group deserve recognition for their commitment to ensuring the next generation of motor vehicle professionals learn using a selection of both premium and standard parts, giving them the skills they need for a range of successful careers in the sector.”

Stephen Perry, Group Recruitment Specialist at the RRG Group, used his connections between Toyota and the College to broker the donation, which includes engines, gear boxes, catalytic convertors and DPF sensors.

Mr Perry said: “It’s been a pleasure to work in collaboration with Toyota GB, TMUK and Bolton College to bring together the tools to equip future generations of talented technicians within our Industry.

“Our partnership can only go from strength to strength and here at the RRG Group together with the senior management team, our connections are invaluable.”

Each car part is brand new and sourced from new project development car stock, elements linked to Toyota’s investment in pioneering hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Toyota GB technical training manager Paul Saxton said: “Toyota, and the Toyota Talent team, are delighted to have supported Bolton College by donating vehicle parts to help students learn.

The partnership between the RRG Group and Bolton College also gives its students access to high-quality work placements and career opportunities at the group.

Each of the College’s new motor vehicle students will also get a free branded overall from the RRG Group for use in the College’s motor vehicle workshops.
