The family of a "bubbly and caring" mum who was found dead on a banking near the River Roch in Bury have paid tribute to her.

Police and other emergency services were called to reports of the concern for the welfare of a woman near the river on Saturday, November 18.

Officers found the body of Sharon Healey, aged 46, the following morning.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

In a tribute, Sharon’s family said: “Sharon was known as a bubbly, outgoing and caring person.

"She would offer time as a volunteer to help people in the community. She loved to attend social events with her friends and family.

“Sharon was a well-liked member of the community and local church.

"Her last achievement was completing a degree in criminology and psychology which she liked doing.

“Her youngest children said how much their mum enjoyed taking them to the park and in her spare times reading at home.

“She is sadly missed by her parents, children, brother, family and close friends. At this time, we ask for privacy while we grieve.”
