This photo records the end of an era for one Bolton youth organisation.
It shows the headquarters of the Bolton Catholic Boys’ Club on Dawes Street in June 1974.
The club had moved out of the building - its home since 1946 - that month and was storing its equipment in schools around the area.
It was hoping that new premises might be found but the existing premises were earmarked for demolition as part of a redevelopment scheme around the town centre.
Morrison’s supermarket now stands on the site of the former boys’ club.
Did you ever attend the club? We know it had a very successful junior football team with various team photos having been featured in Looking Back over the years.
If you have any photos or teams or events at the club, we’d love to share them. Email robert.kelly @nqnw.co.uk or leave a comment.
