Those lucky enough to see Peter Kay perform in his hometown have spoken of their delight.

The Bolton comic staged secret performances at The Octagon Theatre on Sunday night after taking a break from his tour to bring  some cheer to the Octagon.

He raised £80,000 for the outlet and reminisced about his time working there in the 1990s.

The Farnworth born comedian shared memories of his hometown.

Tickets to the surprise event were given first to Octagon members and patrons who support the theatre and then to those who signed up to the mailing list.

They were sold out within minutes.
