A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with facial injuries following an incident in the town centre. over the weekend.

A police cordon was put in place outside the 2 Stories nightclub in Bolton

Emergency services were called to Bradshawgate at around 10pm on Saturday night.

Two 20-year-old women were later arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been bailed pending further investigation.

Seven police vehicles and the ambulance service were seen on the town centre street.

The police remained in place until Sunday and Crime Scene Investigation was seen at the premise.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 11:20pm on Saturday  December 16 2023, officers were called to reports of an assault outside a bar on Bradshawgate in Bolton.

“Emergency services attended the scene and a woman in her 20’s was taken to hospital with facial injuries.

“Two 20-year-old women were later arrested on suspicion of assault and have since been bailed pending further investigation.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”

One witness said: "It started around 10pm on Saturday night.

"There was a large police presence and ambulance.

"The cordon has now gone and been lifted.

"There was seven police vehicles.

"It was 2 Stories the tape was across the front of the whole club."

In September this year police placed a cordon on the street after an assault on the same street.

Police implemented a dispersal order in Bolton town centre over the weekend which included parts of Bradshawgate.

Once councillor said that anti social behaviour was prevalent on the street.
