A Bolton man died after being found unresponsive at his home, an inquest opening heard. 

Adam Swift, aged 31, was found by his family at his home on Eden Street in Astley Bridge 

An inquest into his death opened on Wednesday, December 20 at Bolton Coroners Court. 

Police Coroners Officer Julie Ann Hyde said: "Mr Swift was found hanging at his home by his family on December 8 after they attended, concerned for his welfare. 

"An ambulance was called and his life was declared extinct at the scene." 

She said there were no suspicious circumstances or third party involvement in his death. 

Pathologist Andrew Coates gave his cause of death as hanging. 

Coroner Timothy Brennand adjourned the inquest until February 16 this year. 

He asked for statements to be made available by January 19 from the Special Procedure Investigation officer, Mr Swift's GP, any mental health agency involved with him and an attendance log from North West Ambulance Service.
